Acknowledgements, notes, and more information

This project was done as part of Portland State University's ANTH 560 class, for the Archaeology Roadshow, by Rand Michie. Many thanks to Reno Nims and Virginia Butler, as well as the rest of the class, for feedback and assistance.

This project would have been impossible without the valuable experience I've gained working with the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer of the Coquille Indian Tribe, Kassandra Rippee, and her assistants, as well as other tribal members. Additionally, the many wonderful resources available at the Coquille Indian Tribe's Website were invaluable, particularly the work of Dr. Byram on weirs in the area. If you are curious about weirs or Oregon indigenous communities in general, or the Coquille in particular, their online library is an excellent resource.

Another particularly helpful source of information, especially for making the public-facing elements of this project, was this 6th grade curriculum produced by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.
